Description

This is a non-repayable grant intended to support investments aimed at improving the quality of services provided by commercial enterprises, public establishments or craft businesses.

Eligible initiatives

A business may apply for the grant for fixed investments relating to operational units located within the province, aimed at:

  • the launch of new activities orthe opening of new operational units, including through the purchase of property;
  • the refurbishment, modernisation and enhancement of existing businesses or the conversion of their business activities, including through the purchase of property already in use and the creation of new functional spaces for existing activities;
  • the creation of showrooms, shops, tasting and educational rooms and/or other spaces dedicated to the promotion of their products, only in the case of artisan or industrial manufacturing companies.

Where the exemption scheme is chosen, the planned initiatives must meet one of the following conditions:

  • the opening of a new operational unit;
  • an expansion of the floor space/volume allocated to the business activity;
  • the redevelopment of the operational unit involving diversification of the products and services offered through the addition of new products or services, or a radical transformation of the activity carried out in the operational unit concerned.

Eligible expenditure

Eligible expenditure includes:

  • expenditure on property investments: building works, installations, technical costs, and the purchase of property;
  • expenditure on movable assets: furniture, fittings, equipment, IT hardware and software, and vehicles classified as being for special shop use.

Eligible expenditure limits
  • Minimum eligible expenditure limit: €20,000.00
  • Maximum eligible expenditure limit: €1,500,000.00
  • Limit for the purchase of properties or parts thereof: €150,000.00 (in addition to compliance with the maximum eligible prices set out in Provincial Council Resolution No. 104/2012 – LINK TO THE TABLE).
Grant scheme

The percentage of the grant that the enterprise may receive is:

  • under the de minimis scheme: 30%
  • under the exemption scheme
    • small enterprise: 20 per cent
    • medium-sized enterprises: 10%

The grant is paid in a single instalment upon completion and reporting of the investment.

Restrictions

Costs

There are no application fees, apart from the stamp duty.

Requirements

Subsidised investments must:

  • meet requirements of rationality and functionality;
  • be used exclusively by the beneficiary company for the purposes of the activities subsidised under the Call for Applications;
  • relate to an operational unit within the province;
  • relate to property owned by the applicant (for investments exceeding €500,000.00, total application amount).

Receiving the grant entails the following obligations for you:

  • not to dispose of, transfer or otherwise divert from their intended purpose the assets or services for which the grants have been awarded (property valued at over €250,000.00: 10 years; property valued at €250,000.00 or less: 5 years; movable assets valued at more than €250,000.00: 5 years; movable property with a value of €250,000.00 or less: 3 years);
  • prompt notification of any subjective or objective changes relevant to the granting or continuation of the tax relief;
  • application of collective agreements and national and provincial agreements to its employees, compliance with legislation on labour, social security and welfare, and with provisions concerning the protection of workers’ health and physical well-being;
  • purchase of the assets covered by the leasing contracts.

Cumulation

You may not have received grants under Provincial Law 6/99 or under the ‘Quality in Trentino’ Call for Proposals – trade and services sector (2020 edition) for the same investment.

Nor are portions of a property investment, covered by a single planning permission, for which the applicant has submitted or intends to submit an application under Provincial Law 6/99, eligible.

For the same investment, you may benefit from any tax or social security relief, provided that such relief does not constitute State aid.
