Description
By Resolution of the Provincial Council no. 1738 of 17/11/2025 , the Notice containing the criteria and procedures for the granting of a grant to secondary school students to attend school courses abroad in countries outside the European Union to improve their language skills and increase their understanding of other cultures, during the 2026/2027 school year, was approved.
This is a grant for the attendance of:
- Year III for students attending four-year institutions of higher education
- Year IV for students attending other higher education institutions.
The school course must be undertaken at a foreign educational institution based in a non-EU country.
The educational pathway may be of one-year or partial duration.
The amount of the grant depends on the foreign country of destination chosen, the duration (annual or partial) of the school course and the ICEF "Family" economic condition indicator.

The study grant is paid in two instalments
- the first, as an advance payment, is equal to 50% of the total amount (including any additional amount granted by the Administration in the case of students with disabilities). For transmission methods and deadlines, please consult the Notice.
- The second balance instalmentequal to 50% of the total amount, after the conclusion of the educational pathway subject to verification of the Final Report completed by the foreign school (including any additional amount granted by the Administration in the case of students with disabilities)
The study grant cannot be combined with vouchers or similar benefits awarded for the same purpose by the Province or other public or private bodies, including non-profit organisations (e.g. Inps, Fondazione Caritro, Intercultura, Wep etc.).
The organisation of the school course is the responsibility of the student and his/her family.
Restrictions
The student is obliged to:
- attend a foreign school for the entire school year for a minimum of 240 days, failing which the grant may be reduced or revoked (annual duration)
- attend a foreign school for a minimum of 110 days, failing which the grant may be reduced or withdrawn (partial duration)
- produce, at the end of the school course, thefinal evaluation/report form (Final report), drawn up by the foreign institution (according to the established procedures) certifying the period of school attendance and a positive evaluation.
