ensure a minimum standard of quality and professionalism of the registered carer(s).
Who it's for
Entry in the register Anyone who meets the following requirements may join the register:
age of majority
residence or domicile in a municipality in the province of Trento;
valid residence permit for the purpose of carrying out subordinate work activities or receipt of application for its issue or renewal (for non-EU citizens and stateless persons);
in the five years preceding the submission of the application and in Italy, not having received a final criminal sentence (irrevocable pursuant to art. 648 of the Code of Criminal Procedure) or a sentence of application of the penalty on request, pursuant to art. 444 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, for offences against the family, the person and property;
a health or socio-sanitary qualification, or having attended a training course in Italy of at least 60 hours, which provides for the issue of a certificate of attendance of at least 80% of the total number of hours envisaged, relating to the area of personal assistance with contents relating to socio-cultural and contractual, relational and communicative, technical and professional skills, or having carried out documented work in the field of family assistance of at least 480 hours in the last three years in Italy and having made tax payments, if due.
What to do
Enrolment in the register
The application for registration can be made at any time of the year at any Patronato (see list) or by going directly to the Social Policy Service (by appointment at 0461-492720).
In order to maintain registration in the provincial register, every family assistant is required
to carry out, during the first year following the year of registration, a recognised refresher course of at least 8 hours concerning the skills identified in Article 6 of the Provincial Register Regulations (annexed to Resolution no. 1862 of 3 November 2014). The courses are free of charge and recognised by the employer as work activity.
for each year starting from the second year following the year of registration:
- submit the application to maintain registration in the register (without a revenue stamp) to the Social Policies Service or to a Patronage institution, attaching the documentation on tax payments, if due, and on the recognised refresher course of at least 8 hours carried out during the previous year; - continue the recognised refresher course of at least 8 hours required to maintain annual registration. The loss or failure to fulfil even one of the registration or refresher course requirements results in removal from the register.

Documents to be submitted
The following documents must be attached to the application a) a copy of the residence permit valid for the purposes of employment for subordinate work if the applicant is a foreigner; when the permit is issued or renewed, a copy of the application receipt is sufficient; b) a copy of the qualification, accompanied by a translation into Italian if the qualification was obtained abroad and a certificate of knowledge of the Italian language if it was issued by a private certifying body c) certification from the training provider regarding the number of hours attended and the compliance of the course contents if the training course was organised by a private body.

Maximum no. of waiting days
The Social Policies Service provides for the registration in the provincial register within 30 days from the submission of the application. If the requirements for registration are not met, it adopts a refusal measure within the same term.
