Public entertainment venues – issue of a certificate of compliance

  • Active

Assessment for permanent structures (theatres, cinemas, halls, auditoriums, museums or art galleries, nightclubs or dance halls, sports facilities, swimming pools, adventure parks, etc.) and for temporary structures (marquees, grandstands, etc.).

Description

Under this licence, provided for in Article 80 of Royal Decree No. 773 of 18 June 1931 (T.U.L.P.S.), and issued by means of a specific decision following a favourable opinion from the Provincial Supervisory Commission for Public Entertainment Venues, the aforementioned venues may host one or more of the following public entertainment activities: conferences, concerts, dance events, theatre performances, film/digital screenings, sporting events, exhibitions, etc.

Where the venue has a capacity of fewer than 200 people, the procedure is simplified and it is sufficient to attach the LOC form to the application. This form replaces the on-site inspection by the Provincial Supervisory Commission for Public Entertainment Venues; the qualified technician, registered in the relevant professional register, who draws it up, must also verify compliance with the requirements imposed by the Commission in its opinion on the project (if issued), compliance with town planning and building regulations, and the presence of a suitable fire safety compliance certificate for the activity, if required under Presidential Decree No. 151 of 1 August 2011.
