Movement of tourists in licensed accommodation - Istat declaration

The survey quantifies, for each month and for each municipality, the arrivals and presences of customers (residents and non-residents) according to the category of establishment and type of structure, and according to the foreign country or Italian province of residence.

The survey complies with the dictates of EU Regulation no. 692/2011 of the European Parliament and of the Council concerning European statistics on tourism, more information in the Istat institutional website (External sites).

The data collected are covered by statistical secrecy (art. 9 d.lgs. n. 322/1989) and must be answered.

• Be a tourist accommodation facility recognised by the Tourism Service of the Autonomous Province of Trento
• Have internet access
• If using management software, check that the supplier IT company has already carried out congruence tests on the programme for sending ISTAT and PS files. (see list of approved hotel management software and technical documentation)

The system is aimed at citizens who have, in any capacity (ownership or rental, usufruct and management) licensed accommodation facilities such as: Hotels, rooms to let, campsites, agritourisms, hostels, alpine facilities, Bed and Breakfasts, Cav houses entrepreneurially managed holiday flats, Holiday homes, etc. For private accommodation with a cipat code, the DTU service is available.

Communication of the movement takes place online by logging on to the link below using the user and password provided by the Tourism Service during authorisation.

The declaration is only made for days on which there are arrivals or departures, on the day following the day on which the tourist movement of guests has taken place.

Closed periods (when the facility is not available to provide accommodation) must be reported in advance to the relevant tourist board.

For days with movement , the number of rooms occupied by guests present is recorded. The room is understood as the entire accommodation unit, in the case of hotel tourist residences this means the accommodation unit (flat), in the case of two-bed rooms one accommodation unit is counted.

All children shall be counted regardless of age, even if they do not occupy an actual bed.

Customers who stay in the accommodation only a few hours during the day (and thus do not spend the night) shall not be counted. On the other hand, customers who arrive after midnight and leave the same day must be counted (departure must be reported on the day following arrival).

Arrivals and presences of customers occupying extra beds must be counted.

The following caveats apply when indicating the residence of customers: each member of a group must be registered at the time of check-in according to their province/Italian region of residence/foreign country of residence (the residence of the leader or the person who made the booking must not be assigned to the entire group).

Business travellers must be registered at check-in according to their province/region of residence/foreign country of residence (the business traveller must not be assigned the residence of the company or of the person who made the booking).
