Legal aid contribution for women victims of violence

The contribution, provided for by Article 7 of Provincial Law No. 6 of 2010, is aimed at supporting women in the pathway out of violence through solidarity support in legal actions and in the phase preceding their initiation as well as in the out-of-court settlement of disputes, by contributing to the costs of legal assistance, both in criminal and civil cases.

This contribution, which is one-off and non-repayable, is set at a maximum amount of Euro 5,000.00.

The grant is available to women, including minors, who are victims of violence and who meet the following requirements at the time the application is submitted

• residence in the Province of Trento
• ICEF indicator for income support measures equal to or lower than 0.30, considering as the reference household the one made up of the woman including her tax dependent children;
• taking charge of the woman, certified by the territorial social service or by the accredited anti-violence service;
• non-admission to legal aid.

To access the contribution, the application is submitted by the woman concerned or, in the case of a minor, by the person exercising parental responsibility or legal representation.

With the application, access to the contribution is requested for a maximum amount of Euro 5,000.00. The application may also be submitted

• by way of advance payment, with reference to the initial legal expenses, recognisable up to a maximum amount of Euro 1,500.00
• by way of balance, with reference to further legal expenses incurred, up to a maximum total amount of €5,000.00 including the advance payment; the application for balance shall be submitted within 24 months from the date of submission of the application for advance payment.

The application shall be submitted by one of the following methods

1. electronically by filling in and sending the application online through the Citizen's Room, which can be reached by clicking on the button on this page (Access to the service section), after identification through SPID (Sistema Pubblico di Identità Digitale - Public Digital Identity System), CIE (Carta d'Identità Elettronica - Electronic Identity Card), CNS (Carta Nazionale dei Servizi - National Services Card) or CPS (Carta Provinciale dei Servizi - Provincial Services Card);
2. by filling in the form provided by the administration available on this page and sending it
   • by e-mail or PEC
   • by registered letter with acknowledgement of receipt;
   • by hand delivery, also using the support of the public information and assistance desks of the Province provided for by art. 34 of Provincial Law no. 23 of 1992.

The following are attached to the application

• the certificate of intake by the territorial social service or the accredited anti-violence service (not for the application submitted as a balance)
• the invoice or, in the case of an application submitted as an advance payment, the pro-forma issued by the lawyer and opined by the Bar Association, in which the wording "legal assistance rendered pursuant to Article 7 of the 2010 P.L. no. 6" is indicated and the stages of the activities are indicated
• the decision of the Bar Association rejecting the application for admission, even provisional, to legal aid.

There are no deadlines.
