Installation/modification of telecommunications and broadcasting systems

The single authorisation for fixed telecommunications and broadcasting installations, and their associated structures, is issued by the provincial authority responsible for telecommunications, and includes an assessment of compliance with exposure limits for electromagnetic fields, as well as all authorisations and acts of approval, however named, in the following cases:
(a) for the installation and modification of fixed telecommunications and broadcasting installations, as well as for the construction and modification of the associated structures, where authorisation is required under national legislation;
b) for the construction and modification of structures intended to house fixed telecommunications and broadcasting installations, where a planning permission is required under the 2015 Provincial Law on Spatial Planning.
In other cases, the installation or modification of telecommunications and broadcasting installations, as well as the related structures, is subject to the submission of a SCIA, a notification, a declaration or another simplification procedure provided for by national legislation. Within thirty days of the submission of the aforementioned applications, the Provincial Agency for Environmental Protection shall issue its opinion, in the cases provided for by national legislation.

Companies wishing to install or modify fixed telecommunications installations or radio and television broadcasting installations must apply for authorisation.

The application may be submitted by the company’s legal representative or by a person authorised by them.

Access to the service is via the internet, by visiting the Autonomous Province of Trento’s portal and logging in using one of the accepted methods (CPS, CNS, SPID).

Within thirty days of the submission of the aforementioned applications, the Provincial Environmental Protection Agency shall issue its opinion, in the cases provided for by national legislation.
