Grants for work to prevent damage from ungulates

Agricultural enterprises with a VAT number can apply for the construction of fences to prevent incursions of wild boar, deer, roe deer and other wild fauna species other than predators (i.e. other than bears and wolves) onto their land.

Applications are submitted from 1 January to 30 June each year.

Applicants for prevention measures are required to

maintain them in good working order for agricultural activity for a period of 10 years from

from the date of final acceptance. In the case of nets that can be removed at certain times of the year, the

nets must in any case be kept on the farm in the season of non-use.

The following are beneficiaries that can be classified as small or medium-sized enterprises

(a) farmers with an agricultural VAT number;

(b) forms of association between agricultural undertakings with a view to a collective approach, including reclamation consortia, first and second land improvement consortia, networks of undertakings.

Application at the counter or via PEC (to the PEC of the agricultural service or the peripheral agricultural office of the same service)

The application for aid, drawn up according to the facsimile adopted by the competent provincial structure, contains a declaration in lieu of affidavit stating

• that the firm is not in difficulty, as defined by the Community rules in force
• that the company is not the recipient of previous aid recoveries declared unlawful by the European Union;
• (in the case of initiatives envisaged by individual holdings) the existence of appropriate legal title proving that the applicant owns or holds the parcels of land that are the subject of the initiative, with a list of the aforementioned parcels. Alternatively, the applicant, where he/she is the owner of the plots of land that are the subject of the initiative, may indicate the cadastral details.
• (when the land that is the subject of the initiative is not owned by the applicant) the acquisition of the authorisation to carry out the work, except in the case of the existence of a family business pursuant to Article 230 bis of the Civil Code. In the event of failure to obtain authorisation and in the presence of association or lease contracts, the provisions of Law no. 203 of 3 May 1982 shall apply;
• (in the case of intercompany initiatives) that the land parcels involved in the initiative fall within the consortium perimeter and/or that any crossing, tampering or connection permits have been acquired.

The following documents must be attached to the application

1. planning drawings of the parcels concerned, also in conformity with the cadastral map
2. indication of the details of the valid urban planning title, when required by the laws in force;
3. indication of the details of any further authorisations provided for by the laws in force;
4. any intention to carry out the intervention using the farm labour force.

Applications may be submitted from 1 January to 30 June each year.

1. The data and the particle situation of the holding as resulting from the updated holding files will be used for the examination of the applications.

2. Applications are processed in the chronological order in which they are submitted, while aid is granted on the basis of the date on which processing is completed.

3. The structure responsible for the preliminary investigation will acquire the opinion of the competent structure in charge of wildlife on any negative impact on the wildlife component, or on possible alternative prevention measures. The provincial structure in charge of wildlife may identify, through its own determination, types and cases for which it is not necessary to acquire the opinion, being automatically considered favourable.

4. In the event that the financial resources allocated annually for this type of intervention are not sufficient to satisfy all the applications submitted, the aid shall be denied.
