Contributions and compensation for damage caused by the bad weather in July 2021

On 7, 8 and 13 July 2021, severe weather events affected the Trentino territory, producing non-negligible damage to the infrastructure system, forest roads, the hydraulic network and several public and private properties in the municipalities of Arco, Dro, Nago-Torbole, Riva del Garda, Frassilongo, Levico Terme, Bieno, Borgo Valsugana, Carzano, Castel Ivano, Castelnuovo, Castello Tesino, Cinte Tesino, Grigno, Novaledo, Ospedaletto, Pieve Tesino, Roncegno Terme, Ronchi Valsugana, Samone, Scurelle, Telve, Telve di Sopra, Torcegno, Folgaria, Lavarone, Luserna and Trento.

The damaged parties may apply for a contribution or compensation for the damage suffered and for the resumption of normal living conditions.

Specifically, the following expenses are eligible for a contribution

• demolition, repair, reconstruction of buildings used as dwellings and their appurtenances, related plant engineering and clearance works
• purchase and repair of furniture and major household appliances.

The application may be submitted from 1 October to 31 December 2021.

Interventions must be completed within two years from the date of the measure granting the contribution.

Contributions cannot be combined with tax deductions provided for renovation and energy-saving interventions with respect to the works eligible for contribution. They are also not cumulative with any financial assistance granted directly by the State.

Private individuals owning properties used as dwellings, damaged by the calamitous events of 7, 8 and 13 July 2021 that hit the municipalities of Arco, Dro, Nago-Torbole, Riva del Garda, Frassilongo, Levico Terme, Bieno, Borgo Valsugana Carzano, Castel Ivano, Castelnuovo, Castello Tesino, Cinte Tesino, Grigno, Novaledo, Ospedaletto, Pieve Tesino, Roncegno Terme, Ronchi Valsugana, Samone, Scurelle, Telve, Telve di Sopra, Torcegno, Folgaria, Lavarone, Luserna and Trento.

Contributions may also be granted in favour of persons who, at the time of the disaster, are the main occupants of the damaged, destroyed or uninhabitable property units, provided that they have acquired ownership or usufruct at the time the contributions are granted.

The application must be submitted by the owner of the damaged property.

In the case of a condominium, for damages to common parts, the application for contribution is submitted by the administrator.

The condominium administrator may be delegated by the condominium owners to submit the application for contribution for damages to their property.

The application may be submitted in the following alternative ways

• electronic mail to the certified mail address serv.prevenzionerischi@pec.provincia.tn.it; in this case the documentation must be signed with a digital signature or in the traditional manner, scanned and attached to the electronic mail message together with a copy of the subscriber's identity document; in cases where PEC-ID boxes are used only, it is not necessary to affix the signature
• postal service (by registered letter with return receipt) together with a copy of the subscriber's identity document; in this case, compliance with the submission deadline is documented by the date of dispatch;
• direct delivery to the Risk Prevention Service and Single Emergency Dispatch Centre - Head Office - Via Pedrotti, 18 - 38121 Trento) or through the peripheral assistance and information desks of the Province.

The application can be submitted from 1 October to 31 December 2021.

Grants are awarded in chronological order of the date of receipt of applications and any additions.

Once the grant has been awarded, the applicant shall submit the necessary documentation for the accounting of the expenses incurred in order to obtain payment.
