For operations carried out at the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Department, payment is made on the "TRENTO" rate card, which differs from the national rate card in that the fee for motoring operations is payable to the "Tesoriere Provincia Autonoma di Trento M.C.T. Servizi Tesoreria - Trento" (code 400382). The portion of stamp duty, being a tax, falls under the competence of the State.

What to do
Refund Modalities No. 1. With regard to payments made in error, it is possible to request reimbursement by converting the payment into a voucher and reimbursing it via a motor vehicle consultancy firm / driving school that has expressed its willingness, also with regard to the specific type of payment. The request does not include a payment.
In order to proceed you can follow the following Handbook for Citizens. It is recommended that you contact the relevant vehicle consultancy firm / driving school in advance to check availability for reimbursement.
With this reimbursement method, the car advice bureau / driving school will reimburse the full amount of the PagoPa payment.
Refund method no. 2. Only for the portion of the RIGHTS FOR MOTOR VEHICLE OPERATIONS made payable to "Tesoriere Provincia Autonoma di Trento M.C.T. Servizi Tesoreria - Trento" (code 400382), it is possible to submit a request for reimbursement to the Servizio Motorizzazione Civile.
The amounts that can be reimbursed by the Civil Motor Vehicle Service for motor vehicle transaction fees, in relation to the various motor vehicle rates, are: € 5.16 - € 10.20 - € 10.33 - € 16.20 - € 17.76 - € 20.40 - € 23.65 - € 25.00 - € 25.82 - € 26.40 - € 29.57 - € 35.48 - € 41.41 - € 44.57 - € 45.00 - € 50.00. The reimbursement request requires the payment of a € 16.00 revenue stamp.
In the case of reimbursement method no. 2 , the stamp duty is not due ONLY in cases where the failure to provide the service is due to the Administration (e.g.: breakdown of equipment preventing the service from being provided).
If the PagoPa payment for which reimbursement is requested already includes the amount of stamp duty of €16.00 or multiples thereof, this can be considered as payment of the stamp duty requested for the application. It is recommended that you make prior contact with the offices of the DMV at motorizzazione.civile@provincia.tn.it.
In order to proceed with the reimbursement procedure at the Civil Vehicle Registration Office, it is necessary to send to the pec motorizzazione.civile@pec.provincia.tn.it the forms listed in the section below.
