Description
The scheme provides for the granting of a capital grant to private individuals who intend to renovate properties they own and let them to people in need of housing. Below is some information on the criteria, requirements and procedures for accessing the support, as set out in the resolution of 7 August.
Who can apply
Applicants must hold title to, or a share in, properties situated within the province of Trento.
Eligible works
Renovation works must involve a minimum expenditure of €15,000 and a maximum eligible expenditure of €50,000 per property. Upon completion of the works, the properties must fall within one of the cadastral categories A/2 to A/7.
Amount of the grant and additional incentives
The grant is provided as a capital contribution and amounts to 50 per cent of the maximum eligible expenditure. It may be increased by €5,000 under certain conditions set out in the call for applications.
Procedure for selecting tenants
To identify individuals with housing needs to whom the properties are to be let, grant beneficiaries may proceed in one of two ways:
- Direct selection: beneficiaries may select tenants directly. These tenants must not hold sole ownership of another property situated within 40 kilometres of the property being let;
- Selection through non-profit organisations: alternatively, beneficiaries may make use of the mediation services provided by non-profit organisations that work to support people in need or at a disadvantage, including by making the refurbished accommodation available.
With regard to the rent, contracts will be subject to a subsidised rent reduced by 15 per cent compared to the market rate, as established by Provincial Council Resolution No. 1060 of 10 July 2026.
Application deadlines
Applications may be submitted from Monday 24 August 2026 until Monday 12 October 2026. The grant will be awarded in the chronological order in which applications are received, until the available funds are exhausted. The total budget allocated amounts to 5 million euros.
