Public notice inviting expressions of interest in participating in co-design, pursuant to Article 55 of Legislative Decree 117/2017 (Third Sector Code), for the implementation of international development cooperation initiatives planned by the Provincial Executive, as provided for in Article 2, paragraph 2, subparagraph b-bis) of Provincial Law 10/1988 ‘Support for Development Cooperation’, to be implemented in African countries, with priority given to those in Central and East Africa (in particular Tanzania, Kenya, Burundi, Uganda and Rwanda), aimed at strengthening the capacity of local people and communities to exercise informed control over decisions affecting their social, economic and civic lives.
To this end, the Provincial Executive has approved a call for expressions of interest aimed at promoting “International cooperation projects to strengthen the capacity of local people and communities to exercise informed control over decisions affecting their social, economic and civic lives, to be implemented in Central and East African countries (in particular Tanzania, Kenya, Burundi, Uganda and Rwanda), an area identified by the Provincial Council as a priority. The primary objective is to contribute to local social and economic self-development, based on a cooperative approach founded on reciprocity, which also envisages potential positive benefits for the provincial territory
The purpose of this public call for proposals is to identify third-sector organisations with which to launch a co-design process aimed at achieving the objective described above and, as a matter of priority, to establish partnerships with government bodies, local authorities and other local stakeholders in the aforementioned central and eastern African countries.
