Joint planning of international cooperation initiatives in African countries

The Province intends to launch a co-design process, pursuant to Article 55 of Legislative Decree 117/2017 (Third Sector Code), for the implementation of international development cooperation initiatives planned by the Provincial Executive, as provided for in Article 2, paragraph 2, subparagraph b-bis) of Provincial Law 10/1988 ‘Support for Development Cooperation’, to be implemented in African countries, with priority given to those in Central and East Africa (in particular Tanzania, Kenya, Burundi, Uganda and Rwanda), aimed at strengthening the capacity of local people and communities to exercise informed control over decisions affecting their social, economic and civic lives.

To this end, the Provincial Executive has approved a call for expressions of interest aimed at promoting“International cooperation projects to strengthen the capacity of local people and communities to exercise informed control over decisions affecting their social, economic and civic lives , to be implemented in the central and eastern African countries (in particular Tanzania, Kenya, Burundi, Uganda and Rwanda), an area identified by the Provincial Council as a priority. The primary objective is to contribute to local social and economic self-development, based on a cooperative approach founded on reciprocity, which also envisages potential positive benefits for the provincial territory

The purpose of this public call for proposals is to identify third-sector organisations with which to launch a co-design process aimed at achieving the objective described above and, as a matter of priority, to establish partnerships with government bodies, local authorities and other local stakeholders in the aforementioned central and eastern African countries.

Third Sector organisations that have been registered in the Single National Register of the Third Sector (RUNTS) for at least six months and whose articles of association include, amongst their corporate purposes, development cooperation or similar terms such as international cooperation or solidarity, operating in the province of Trento and meeting the additional requirements set out in Article 7 of the Notice.

The application for participation consists of the following documents:
1. application to participate in the co-design process – Annex A;
2. a self-declaration made in accordance with Articles 46 and 47 of Presidential Decree No. 445/2000 confirming that the requirements for participation are met – Annex B;
3. project proposal, based on the template provided – Annex C;
4. a timetable, based on the template provided – Annex D;
5. budget, based on the template provided – Annex E;
6. partnership agreement, based on the template provided – Annex F;
7. Declaration in lieu of certification regarding compliance with general eligibility criteria – Annex G
