Description
Forest and pasture estates manage their woodlands and open areas through estate forest management plans, which set out the extent and characteristics of the forests they own, as well as their capacity to provide various ecosystem services, including protection and production. In particular, these plans set out the quantities and methods for harvesting timber or firewood in accordance with sustainability principles. Where such plans relate to Natura 2000 sites, their contents are made public to allow anyone to submit comments for the purposes of an environmental impact assessment.
