Applications must relate to a development programme for environmental protection concerning abusiness initiative aimed at safeguarding the environment, for the implementation of which one or more environmental protection projects, as identified in Title IV of the decree of 9 December 2014, and, where appropriate, research, development and innovation projects, as identified in Title III of the same decree of 9 December 2014, which are closely connected and functional with each other in relation to the environmental protection objective, may be required. Consistent with the provisions of Article 28 of the aforementioned decree of 9 December 2014 and the objectives of sub-investment 1, the investment projects must be aimed at:

(a) to environmental protection, including aid for the reduction and elimination of greenhouse gas emissions, in accordance with the provisions of Article 36 of the GBER Regulation; (b) to the introduction of energy efficiency measures, in accordance with the provisions of Articles 38 and 38-bis of the GBER Regulation

c) thepromotion of the use of energy from renewable sources, renewable hydrogen and high-efficiency cogeneration, in accordance with the provisions of Article 41 of the GBER Regulation, only where the investments concern measures intended for self-consumption by the beneficiary enterprise and are part of a broader investment programme

(d) toresource efficiency and support for the transition to a circular economy, in accordance with the provisions of Article 47 of the GBER Regulation.
