Description
The Strategy (SSL) of the Trentino Orientale LAG was approved by Deliberation of the Provincial Council no. 1354 dated 30 August 2024. The document consists of 23 chapters.
In the first part the LAG describes its composition, listing all the partners in the territory involved and the LAG's technical and organisational structure. The territory on which the Strategy is based was defined by the Provincial Council and is the area where the LAG Trentino Orientale has already operated, including the Leno Valleys (Terragnolo, Vallarsa and Trambileno), Ronzo Chienis and the Cembra Valley.
For the definition of the Strategy, the Trentino Orientale LAG launched a participatory process that directly involved the local community, which was invited to take part in several animation meetings. The collection of needs and analysis of the territory resulted in a SWOT matrix: starting from the analysis of the data, the LAG outlined the issues of greatest interest to private and public stakeholders. At the end of the territorial analysis and listening process, 2 thematic areas were identified
1. "local socio-cultural and tourist-recreational supply systems", a theme chosen because it represents a strategic sector for the area's economy, capable of generating employment and economic growth. This thematic area presents a series of opportunities that can be exploited to promote the sustainable development of the territory, such as the enhancement of cultural and natural heritage, the development of sustainable tourism activities and social inclusion;
2. "local food systems, districts, agricultural and agri-food chains", a theme chosen because it represents a complementary sector to the first one, capable of contributing to the enhancement of the territory and the promotion of a sustainable economy. This thematic area has strengths for promoting the development of the territory, such as the presence of quality agricultural and food production and the availability of natural resources.
The choice of these two thematic areas is aimed at promoting the sustainable development of the Trentino Orientale LAG territory, through the valorisation of natural, cultural and productive resources, by pursuing the following 3 general objectives, which represent the 3 pillars around which the United Nations 2030 Agenda was outlined:
1. Economic development: promoting the local economy, supporting the competitiveness of farms, the diversification of economic activities and the tourist attractiveness of the territory.
2. Social development: to improve the inclusiveness and attractiveness of the territory by improving access to services and infrastructure in rural areas.
3. Environmental development: to protect the environment and promote biodiversity by supporting investments in sustainable activities.
Within these 3 objectives, the LAG intends to finance the following types of investments:
Objective 1:
1.1 Productive investments in agricultural holdings;
1.2 Investments for the diversification of non-agricultural activities;
1.3 Productive investments outside agricultural holdings;
1.4 Training, advisory and awareness actions.
Objective 2:
2.1 Non-productive off-farm investments;
2.2 Establishment of new non-agricultural entrepreneurs;
2.3 Cooperation operations.
Objective 3:
3.1 Non-productive investments on farms;
3.2 Investments in local infrastructure.
