Description
It is a database that collects the characteristic data of all the springs in the Province of Trento, with greater emphasis on perennial and low-altitude springs, which represent an important resource for human activities. It also contains information on intake works, flow rates, chemistry and the hydrogeological context from which they originate.
Born from a census started in 1974 by the Trentino-Alto Adige Region, then taken over and managed by the Geological Service of the P.A.T. since 1994, it has been progressively enriched by collecting much of the information available within the Autonomous Province of Trento concerning springs. The accuracy, reliability and up-to-date status of the data collected are rather heterogeneous, and therefore the information contained should be evaluated and used with caution.
For springs with an intake structure, the position indicated is that of the door (or trapdoor) of access to it, regardless of the development or articulation it may have in the subsoil.
