Permitted activities

Limits and prohibitions

• Continuation of agricultural activity using traditional methods or modern techniques compatible with the natural and landscape characteristics of the Provincial Nature Reserve;
• Access to cultivated land, even with motor vehicles, by the owner, tenant or possessor.
• Exercise of silviculture according to the Forest Management Plan and prescriptions of the Provincial Service responsible for protected areas.
• Circulation of motor vehicles for forest use activities and free transit on the road connecting the provincial road and the Dossi Grotta porphyry extraction and processing area, with the possibility of ordinary and extraordinary maintenance work on the latter road.
• Maintenance interventions on plants or infrastructures based on the prescriptions of the provincial service responsible for protected areas.
• Carrying out environmental restoration and safeguarding interventions promoted or authorised by the Provincial Service responsible for protected areas, subject to the consent of the property.
• Exercise of "dry foot" fishing (from the shore) with gear allowed by the type B licence, exclusively in the following areas
  a) from the west bank, from the northern boundary of the Provincial Nature Reserve to the rest area equipped with a bench (approx. 90 metres).
  b) from the eastern bank, from the northern boundary of the Provincial Nature Reserve to the reed bed (approx. 60 metres).
• Fishing is prohibited during the period between the first Sunday in March and the first Sunday in June inclusive of each year, corresponding to the time of bird nesting.

• Modify or alter in any way the elements that make up the Provincial Nature Reserve.
• Deposit waste or materials of any kind, carry out excavations, changes of cultivation, land reclamation or draining works
• Cultivate quarries and peat bogs
• Placing, removing or damaging plants or parts of them of any species; collecting or damaging mushrooms or other undergrowth products.
• Hunting; introducing, taking or disturbing any animal species; letting dogs or other domestic animals roam.
• Introducing agricultural crops that are alien to the traditional context (e.g. intensive planting of minor crops and vegetables).
• Fishing is prohibited, with the specific exceptions indicated in the permitted activities, and in any case during the bird nesting period
• Erecting constructions or artefacts of any type or material, even if temporary.
• Emit or inject water or sewage slurry.
• Use pesticides of any kind or poisoned bait for purposes outside the permitted activities.
• Use mulching with man-made material.
• Crossing the area with new power lines, telephone lines or other overhead or underground conduits.
• Camping, lighting fires, spreading lights, sounds and disturbing noises.
• Carrying out competitive or folkloric activities (other organised events require authorisation).
• Erecting any type of fence that may cause damage or impede the passage of wildlife.
