Description

La La Rocchetta Provincial Nature Reserve (insert link!) is an area of high naturalistic value along the bank of the river Noce in the lower Non Valley. This route is called "The rediscovered waters", as it is water, the queen of this place, that acts as a common thread along the entire route.

The Information Point, built in 2000, is located in the Crescino station of the Trento-Malé Electric Railway. Exhibition sections illustrate the reality of protected biotopes and in particular the characteristics of the La Rocchetta Biotope. Spaces are reserved for the importance of river ecosystems and the renaturalisation work carried out as part of the NECTON project (co-financed with EU Life funds, years 1997-2000).

Thanks to the ease with which it can be reached (even without a car) and the tranquillity and safety of the area, the biotope lends itself to short walks for families, as well as visits by school groups.

The start of the route is marked by a special totem, clearly visible near the station, which invites you to descend to the left, under the railway bridge. Crossing a footbridge that crosses a typical marshy pond, rich in fish fauna, one arrives at the beginning of the circular route, which, through a well-marked path, leads the visitor to discover the most interesting points of the place, guided at each stage by special information boards that report the most interesting aspects.

The didactic route begins near the Crescino railway station and includes an easy loop path, partly suspended on piles and footbridges, that allows visitors to enter the typical willow and alder wood that grows along the river. All along the way there are observation points and information boards that help you discover all the special features of the area.

If you keep your eyes open and do not make too much noise it is not difficult to spot one of the many animal species that find their ideal habitat here (including amphibians, reptiles, mammals, birds, fish).
