The database created contains, in addition to the lithological description of the strata, the most frequently collected data from investigations of this type:

As far as the compilation of the stratigraphic column is concerned, a considerable effort was made to codify the loose soils and rocks by introducing a necessary standardisation in the terminology to be adopted.
The coding system makes it possible to reduce the subjectivity of the description and effectively query the database for subsequent processing. For example, a terrain is described with a string consisting of a maximum of three nouns referred to by one or more descriptive adjectives.
