Limits and prohibitions

Partially protected area

• Continuation of traditional economic activities (in particular agriculture).
• Social, cultural, educational and recreational use.
• Expansion of existing agricultural structures, with the possibility of building dwellings to serve the farm in accordance with the PRG.
• Cultivation of agricultural land using traditional and current agronomic techniques compatible with conservation criteria.
• Breeding and grazing of only cattle, respecting natural balances.
• Farm vehicle circulation for owners, tenants, usufructuaries, administrators and farm workers in cultivated areas.
• Silvicultural practices and tree management, according to naturalistic criteria and subject to the Forestry Authority's approval.
• Transformation of forest stands of artificial plantation and alien to the ecological structure, subject to the opinion of the competent Service.
• Plant and mushroom picking according to provincial laws.
• Restructuring tool shelters on agricultural land.
• Cross-country skiing track passage in the winter months.
• Conducting fish farming.
• Use of water in the event of forest fires.
• Excavation and research activities in areas of archaeological interest.
• Construction of small wooden constructions for cultural/scientific use
• Interventions required for natural rebalancing, protection and management on a scientific level.
• Cutting of typical vegetation with manual pruning or vertical/horizontal cutter bar (excluding mechanical tools that cause defoliation).
• Cleaning of drainage ditches after notifying the competent service.
• Cultural activities for knowledge of archaeological and naturalistic topics.

• Introduction or removal of animal and plant species (except for scientific and conservation reasons).
• Release of plant species without prior authorisation.
• Killing, capturing, injuring or disturbing wild animals.
• Introducing waste water or water altering the characteristics of the Reserve.
• Crossing with overhead power lines and telephone lines (except burying pipes with prior authorisation).
• Overflying aircraft at low altitude (except for scientific reasons and with prior authorisation).
• Making noises, sounds, disturbing lights.
• Entering with motor vehicles or motorbikes (except for owners, tenants, possessors, right of way, existing productive activities).
• Conduct camping activities or recreational and folklore events.
• Any type of fencing (non-masonry fences for cattle grazing permitted, removed at the end of the cycle; fences pertaining to buildings or for safety/legislation permitted if not in masonry above ground and subject to building permit; excluding fences in stretches of road).

Integral reserve area

• Activities necessary for the conservation and restoration of the Reserve, based on rigorous scientific study.
• Activities aimed at maintaining and recovering "youth" elements of the system (e.g. ponds, peat excavation depressions, mowing herbaceous formations, invasive control).
• Activities with cultural and educational value, including demonstration initiatives on traditional peat cultivation practices

• Modifying or altering the elements of the protected area.
• Depositing waste or materials, excavating, changing cultivation, clearing or draining (except as specified).
• Cultivate quarries and peat bogs (except for demonstration purposes).
• Introducing, removing or damaging plants and fungi (except for scientific reasons and with prior authorisation).
• Killing, disturbing, releasing or taking animal species (except for scientific reasons and with prior authorisation).
• Release waste water or water altering the characteristics of the Reserve.
• Use pesticides and herbicides (except for public health protection).
• Crossing overhead power lines and telephone lines.
• Fly over low-flying aircraft or helicopters.
• Disturbing noises, sounds and lights, driving vehicles.
• Camping, lighting fires, letting dogs or other pets roam.
• Entering the area outside the marked trails (except for owners, usufructuaries, etc. and scientific/surveillance/management personnel).
• Fencing of any kind.
