Permitted activities

Limits and prohibitions

• Construction and fitting out of buildings strictly necessary for the management and surveillance of the Reserve, as well as for the exercise of silvopastoral activities.
• Construction and laying out of roads, paths or access roads only insofar as deemed necessary for the purposes of the Reserve itself.
• Collection and removal of any kind of geological, botanical, faunal finds authorised by the Forestry Authority only for ascertained scientific research purposes and subject to written declaration.
• Access and transit with motor vehicles or vehicles of any kind permitted only along carriageways and regulated in terms of intensity and hours by the Forestry Administration.
• Stopping, parking with motor vehicles and vehicles of any kind permitted only in the established parking areas.
• Forest uses that are irreplaceable for the activities carried out within the Reserve (wood for refuges, mountain huts, shelters and housing for surveillance personnel), as well as those of a strictly selective, naturalistic and aesthetic nature.
• Hydraulic-forestry works necessary to maintain the stability of the soil, which reconcile the area's aesthetic-landscape aims.
• Livestock grazing carried out with criteria that reconcile the aims of the Reserve (especially as regards loading and movement of livestock, grazing areas and sewage disposal).
• Culling of game only by specialised forestry personnel, with strict naturalistic selective criteria, in order to maintain the bio-ecological balance.
• Exploitation and opening of quarries permitted if the material is to be used within the reserve for the purpose of integrating pre-arranged works and structures with the landscape and always according to the precise prescriptions of the Forestry Administration.
• Exploitation of water that is essential for the establishment purposes of the Reserve, including dwellings, shelters, huts.

• Any other type of building not strictly necessary.
• Construction and planting of any other means of communication or transport not for the purposes of the Reserve's establishment.
• Lighting fires except in recognised cases of extreme necessity or in appropriately designated places.
• Makingunnecessarynoises or soundsof annoying intensity.
• Throwing away or abandoning rubbish, papers, containers.
• Damaging plants and harassing animals of any kind.
• Exercising motocross.
• Culling game animals by non-specialised personnel or not using naturalistic selective criteria.
• Any change in the purposes, qualities, or methods of existing water use without a new application.
• New applications for surface and deep water use without a binding opinion from the Forestry Authority.
