Description
These non-established biotopes therefore lack specific protection constraints, which are instead provided for the 46 provincial Nature Reserves by the respective institutive and amending resolutions.
For them, the generic safeguard measures envisaged by Article 46 paragraph 2 of Provincial Law 11/2007 apply, i.e. it is forbidden to:
a) damage, disturbance and alteration of natural and semi-natural habitats, of habitats of protected animal and plant species within the areas and sites of the "Natura 2000" network
(b) any form of landfill or deposit of solid and liquid waste or other materials of any kind
(c) excavation, change of cultivation and land reclamation or drainage works
(d) cultivation of quarries and peat bogs;
e) hunting activities, with the exception of any animal collection and selective culling necessary to redress ecological imbalances.

Provincial nature reserves
Since 1986, the Autonomous Province of Trento has been protecting the most precious natural places in its territory not included in the Parks, recognising their relevant environmental, cultural and scientific interest.
Identified in the Provincial Urban Plan of 1987, specific protection restrictions were set for each of these areas in the following years.
These areas, initially defined as 'Biotopes', were renamed 'Provincial Nature Reserves' by Provincial Law 11/2007.
