Description

The aim of this action, carried out within the framework of the LIFE+TEN project, is to identify homogeneous territorial areas (ATOs) in the provincial territory, centred on the sites of the Natura 2000 Network, with reference to the framework drawn up by Action A.3.
The ATOs may evolve into Networks of Reserves, thus giving concrete implementation to the Trentino Multipurpose Ecological Network.

The development of this action may also constitute a valuable reference point for the elaboration of the Autonomous Province of Trento's spatial planning tools in the fields of agriculture, tourism, town planning and landscape protection, hydraulic management, road infrastructure management and forest management.
In fact, the conditions will be created to foster the development of organic and integrated strategies and coherence between the different planning levels and tools.

Expected results

  • the general project of the Multifunctional Ecological Network, starting from the identification of Homogeneous Territorial Areas (ATOs) and the consequent orderly and organic development of local Reserve Network initiatives
  • at a more general level, an increase in the level of integration between the various sector policies, as well as between distinct planning levels and instruments, which harmonises conservation requirements with that of balanced socio-economic development of the Trentino territory.
