Description
The aim of this action, carried out by MUSE within the LIFE+TEN project, is an in-depth analysis of the provincial territory and the border areas of the neighbouring regions in order to highlight
- the main connections between the NATURA 2000 Network sites
- situations of ecological disruption and fragmentation.
Distribution and abundance models have been developed for the most valuable species and "source areas" identified for them and their associated biological communities, but also for the invasive exotic species present in Trentino and neighbouring areas.
The main problems of the Trentino sites of the NATURA 2000 Network that are adjacent to non-provincial sites were also identified in order to analyse them in the "working tables" set up with the local authorities of the other Regions (see Action C.5).
Expected results
- an up-to-date, precise and detailed picture of the "ecological permeability" of the Trentino territory, also considering the areas bordering it.
This analysis will be represented by distribution models and summary maps with different levels of detail depending on whether one is inside (detailed analysis) or outside (general analysis) the sites of the NATURA 2000 Network.
