Val di Cembra coast to coast

A guided hike from one side of the Cembra Valley to the other along ancient paths through history, nature and terraced landscapes

© Provincia autonoma di Trento -

Description

An intense and extremely varied day excursion, leading from the historic centre of the town of Cembra to the Avisio river and the suggestive Pozzolago hydroelectric power station, a small jewel of industrial architecture, still working today, located just a few metres from the torrent. This admirable work, built in the 1920s, uses the water accumulated in the Piazze Lake basin, into which the waters derived from the Brusago, Regnana and Roggia streams also flow.
We then ascend towards some small hamlets of the municipalities of Lona Lases and Segonzano, amidst hints of history and rural culture, immersed in a splendid terraced landscape.
Once again descending towards the Avisio stream, we finally climb along historical and panoramic paths towards the village of Faver and then return to Cembra.

Accompanying person: naturalist Sandro Zanghellini.
