On 28 November 2024, at Progetto Manifattura in Rovereto, the event "+Europa: keywords Security and Cybersecurity" will be held, organised by Europe Direct Trentino, UMSE Europa and Trentino Sviluppo. The meeting, designed for citizens and enterprises, will address crucial issues such as security, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence (AI) and the European Commission's policy priorities for Europe's digital future.
In an increasingly connected and digital world, awareness of the risks and opportunities of cyberspace is crucial for citizens and businesses alike. The aim of the event will be twofold: to raise awareness among citizens about online security risks and to provide businesses with the tools and information they need to navigate in an increasingly complex and interconnected environment.
The event agenda
1. The Europe of security and cybersecurity
The meeting will open with a speech by Vittorio Calaprice, AI Focal Point of the European Commission Representation in Italy, who will illustrate the new political priorities of the Commission, led for the second time by Ursula von der Leyen. The focus will be on security, cybersecurity and the growing role of artificial intelligence as a tool for strengthening digital defences.
2. Digital security for business
The second speech will be given by Jovan Stevovic, CEO of Chino Srl, a company based in the Trentino Sviluppo premises and specialised in data protection, compliance and cybersecurity consultancy. Chino supports numerous companies in Europe in the adoption of advanced data protection and cybersecurity solutions. In addition, it has been an active partner in numerous Horizon 2020 and Horizon Europe projects since its inception.
Not only companies, but also citizens need to become aware of digital risks, so we will explore the available tools and resources that enable them to make informed choices, especially regarding the protection of personal data in cyberspace.
3. European opportunities for the digital future
The event will conclude with a reflection by Diego Coglitore, an expert from APRE - Agency for the Promotion of European Research, on the tools and opportunities that the European Commission makes available to researchers and innovators in the areas of cybersecurity and artificial intelligence technology development, with a focus on funding programmes for companies and research centres, including those of the Horizon Europe framework programme.
