Description
The second edition of “Autonomy: The Journey of the Trentino Community” is now underway, organised by the Provincial Department for the Promotion of Awareness of Autonomy, with the aim of sharing with the public the significance and values of Trentino’s special autonomy.
Between September and November 2026, the programme features meetings, lectures, exhibitions and events dedicated to the history and future prospects of Autonomy, exploring its various dimensions: from the Constitution to the protection of linguistic minorities, from territorial cooperation to the cultural and social challenges of the present day, through the involvement of local, national and international organisations.
THE EXHIBITIONS
Through these exhibitions, the historical narrative becomes visible and accessible, allowing the public to immerse themselves directly in the crucial moments that marked the birth of the Republic and of our Autonomy. This journey of remembrance and awareness includes two events of particular significance:
1946. From the vote for the Republic to the Paris Agreement: organised by the Provincial Department for the Promotion of Knowledge of Autonomy and curated by the Trentino Historical Museum Foundation, this exhibition traces the key stages of a decisive year in the history of Trentino, Italy and its institutional framework.
Album 1946. The Summer of Choices: organised by the Provincial Council of the Autonomous Province of Trento and curated by the Trentino Historical Museum Foundation and the Trentino Alcide De Gasperi Foundation, this exhibition offers a unique and documentary insight into aspects of Alcide De Gasperi’s life during a pivotal year: 1946.
