Towards a safe and sustainable hospital

This investment involves seismic retrofitting worksin line with the new regulatory framework in this area. Hospitals play a strategic role, both because of their vital function in providing emergency care to the population and because of their greater level of exposure in the event of earthquakes, as they accommodate a very large number of people with varying levels of responsiveness.

Specifically, this involves:

• 2 structural projects funded by the PNRR for the refurbishment and seismic upgrading of the Borgo Valsugana Hospital and the Perusini Wing in Pergine Valsugana (target: at least 1 project funded by the PNRR)
• 4 structural projects funded by the PNC for the existing Vannetti Care Home in Rovereto and for Pavilions A and B of Arco Hospital (target: 4 projects funded by the PNC)

To improve the safety of hospital buildings by bringing them into line with current building regulations for earthquake-prone areas.

The Autonomous Province of Trento, in its capacity as the implementing body, utilisesthe Trentino Integrated University Health Authority (Asuit) as its delegated implementing body.

The implementation of the PNRR in Trentino forms an integral part of the provincial policy framework for sustainable development, in line with the policies set out in the Provincial Economic and Financial Document and the related Update Note.

PNC funding: €11,860,975

The target has been met for the Perusini building in Pergine Valsugana (PNRR), for which the administrative certification process has been completed.

Work on the former Vannetti care home in Rovereto (PNC) and on the three projects at Arco Hospital (PNC) is either underway or due to start shortly, and will be completed by 31 December 2026.
