Towards a safe and sustainable hospital

This investment involves seismic retrofitting worksin accordance with the new regulatory framework in this area. Hospitals play a strategic role, both because of their vital function in providing emergency care to the population and because of their greater level of exposure in the event of earthquakes, as they accommodate a very large number of people with varying levels of responsiveness.

Specifically, this involves:

• 2 structural works funded by the PNRR for the refurbishment and seismic upgradingof the Borgo Valsugana Hospital and the Perusini Wing in Pergine Valsugana (target: at least 1 project funded by the PNRR)
• 4 structural works funded by the PNC forthe Vannetti Hospital in Rovereto and for Pavilions A (2 works) and B of the Arco Hospital (target: 4 works funded by the PNC)

To improve the safety of hospital buildings through seismic retrofitting and upgrading works , in accordance with current regulations governing construction in earthquake-prone areas.

The Autonomous Province of Trento, in its capacity as the implementing body, utilisesthe Trentino Integrated University Health Authority (Asuit) as its delegated implementing body.

The implementation of the PNRR in Trentino forms an integral part of the provincial policy framework for sustainable development, in line with the policies set out in the Provincial Economic and Financial Document and the related Update Note.

PNRR funding: €4,745,000.00

PNC funding: €11,860,975.00

The PNRR target has been achieved following the completion of the administrative certification process for the project relating to the Perusini Pavilion in Pergine Valsugana.

Work is currently underway at the hospitals in Borgo Valsugana, Rovereto and Arco (demolition of Pavilion A; reconstruction of Pavilion A; seismic retrofitting of Pavilion B). The works will be completed by 31 December 2026, in line with the scheduled deadline.
