General information
Scientific progress and technological innovation require that healthcare workers are regularly updated and trained to ensure the effectiveness, adequacy, safety and efficiency of the care provided by the National Health System (NHS). This need was also evident during the pandemic crisis. In this context, the investment aims to strengthen training in basic medicine.
Each year of the three-year period 2021-2023, a government decree has been published to allocate economic resources to the Regions and Autonomous Provinces to finance additional scholarships for specific three-year general medicine courses (a total of 2,700 additional scholarships). The three-year courses concerned are 2021/2024, 2022/2025 and 2023/2026.
