Scholarships for specialised training in general practice

Scientific progress and technological innovation require healthcare professionals to be regularly updated and trained to ensure the effectiveness, appropriateness, safety and efficiency of the care provided by the National Health Service (NHS). This need has also become evident during the pandemic. Against this backdrop, the investment aims to strengthen training in general practice.

Each year of the three-year period 2021–2023, a government decree was issued allocating financial resources to the Regions and Autonomous Provinces to fund additional scholarships for specific three-year general practice courses (totalling 2,700 additional scholarships). The three-year course periods concerned are 2021/2024, 2022/2025 and 2023/2026.

The aim of the investment is to increase the number of scholarships in general practice, ensuring the completion of three three-year training cycles.

The Autonomous Province of Trento is the implementing body.

The implementation of the PNRR in Trentino forms an integral part of the provincial policy framework for sustainable development, in line with the policies set out in the Provincial Economic and Financial Document and the related Update Note.

PNRR funding: €793,123.38

The seven additional scholarships have been awarded for each of the three-year periods 2021–2024, 2022–2025 and 2023–2026.
