General information

The overall objective of Rural COOP is to strengthen territorial cohesion by identifying, modelling and testing new methodologies and tools to promote and support ‘integrated territorial development’ in non-urban areas.

To achieve the project’s main objective, Rural COOP envisages the following activities:

analysing the experience gained and the good practices developed with regard to participatory integrated territorial development tools and the involvement of regional policy-makers;

capitalise on these experiences through capacity-building activities aimed at improving the organisational capacity of those responsible for policy instruments, structured around study visits, webinars and face-to-face workshops;

to improve the implementation of integrated territorial development tools by engaging local communities through scenario-based studies, with the aim of promoting the adoption of the green communities model;

launch pilot initiatives to test and innovate intervention tools;

to effectively integrate the ‘green communities’ approach into the various policy instruments made available by the partnership, in accordance with the characteristics and principles identified through the pilot actions;

disseminate the results achieved through the actions promoted and implemented.

Goals

Rural COOP aims to promote the sustainable and participatory development of rural and mountain areas. The project aims to incorporate the Green Community approach into the partnership’s various policy instruments through an exchange of experiences in the field of integrated territorial development and the active participation of local stakeholders.
