General information
The NEVERMORE project aims to support excellence in climate research and overcome the current siloed approach in assessing climate change impacts and risks across sectors and adaptation and mitigation policies.
To achieve its objectives, the project will develop an integrated and coherent common assessment framework across scales for modelling, simulation and evaluation of climate change impacts and risks as well as policy measures.
The NEVERMORE approach integrates information from physical impact modelling and risk analysis methodologies and aligns them at different scales: from national, European and global (in the IAM) to local and regional scales through five case studies (Sitia-Crete-GR, Trentino-IT, Västerbotten and Norrbotten-SE, Murcia-ES, Danube Delta-RO) representing different socio-ecological contexts in the EU.
Goals
The objective of the project is to analyse the interactions between mitigation and adaptation policies adopted in different socio-economic spheres to cope with climate change, in order to provide recommendations oriented towards resilient development.
The Trentino case study will focus on the analysis and evaluation of the impacts of climate change on the tourism sector, in particular on the winter season.
The role of PAT, through the Tourism and Sport Service, is to coordinate the Trentino case study involving stakeholders, contributing to the analysis of adaptation and mitigation policies adopted and to the identification of new measures; promoting and communicating the results of the project.
