Mobile closed-loop washing plant for agricultural vehicles

Industrial project financed with a grant under the Provincial Law on incentives for enterprises, aid for the promotion of research and development-Provincial Law No. 6 of 13 December 1999, as amended

General information

The project proposes the realisation of a complete agricultural vehicle washing system available in a loadable and transportable container module managed by an advanced computerised system that allows the user to book the time of use of the service and the operator to monitor compliance with the rules of behaviour for its correct use.

The sector of application mainly concerns the agricultural sector since the service is aimed at washing agricultural vehicles and sprayers used in agriculture.

The project stands out for many innovative elements, including a new filtration/purification technology developed with the use of ultrafiltration, ozone treatment, carbon refining, hypochlorite dosing and ultraviolet debacterisation. The use of wearable components was also limited and automatic self-cleaning cycles were designed and implemented.

Traditional self-cleaning systems are not suitable for treating the washing water of agricultural vehicles and their spraying machines, as only a coarse treatment of the water is provided, which is then sent to the sewage system.

To minimise the presence of an operator, the maintenance of the system was designed to be carried out mainly remotely through specially implemented software.

The project has achieved many benefits such as flexibility in implementation, as the system is modular and adaptable to any specific need. Excellent performance on filtration, particularly on the results of chemical analysis and the residue obtained from filtration, which was 5% of the volume treated.

The results of the project, the technologies obtained, and the prototype can be extended to future applications in the zootechnical field with regard to the washing of vehicles applied in stables or zootechnical laboratories, and in the building industry with regard to the cleaning of construction and road machinery.

From the energy point of view, it will be possible to implement the plant engineering in such a way as to make it high-performance and energy-efficient, depending on the case and application.

Goals

Maximising plant automation with the aim of reducing maintenance costs, maximising efficiency with automatic self-cleaning systems for the filter membranes. Reducing the energy and environmental impact through the use of air-water heat pumps, the reduction of overall dimensions and through the construction of a container module that can be driven and modulated according to the user's needs instead of the construction of special buildings.
Reducing the amount of effluent produced by the wash water purification process to a maximum to reduce disposal costs and with consequent positive results from an environmental point of view.
