Management training courses

Scientific progress and technological innovation require healthcare professionals to be regularly updated and trained to ensure the effectiveness, appropriateness, safety and efficiency of the care provided by the National Health Service (NHS). This need has also become evident during the pandemic crisis. In this context, the investmentequips senior staff to tackle current and future challenges through an integrated, sustainable, innovative and flexible approach that is consistently results-oriented.

The aim of the investment isto develop a training programme for managers and middle managers within companies and organisations in the National Health Service (NHS), to enable them to acquire the managerial and digital skills and competences required to tackle current and future challenges in a sustainable, innovative, flexible and results-oriented approach, to manage new models of local healthcare provision and to make the most of digital and technological innovations (telemedicine, the Electronic Health Record, etc.)

Provincial target: 40 participants from senior staff of the Provincial Health Services Authority

The Autonomous Province of Trento is the beneficiary.
AGENAS (National Agency for Regional Health Services) is the intermediary body.

The implementation of the PNRR in Trentino fits seamlessly within the provincial policy framework for sustainable development, in line with the policies set out in the Provincial Economic and Financial Document and the related Update Note.

PNRR funding of €160,000.00

of which:
€153,600.00 allocated to the Province for the provision of training to a target group of 40 staff members
€6,400.00 allocated to AGENAS (National Agency for Regional Health Services) as the intermediary body for the activities necessary to implement the project on behalf of the Ministry of Health and for the delivery of two editions of the pilot course

During 2023, the call for applications for the course for managers and middle managers in the Provincial Health Service, organised in Trento, was approved.

The University of Trento was designated as the training provider, and the binding agreement between the Autonomous Province of Trento and Agenas was approved (Resolution No. 1664 of 15 September 2023, amended by Resolution No. 1728 of 22 September 2023).

Agenas has been notified of the name of the APSS manager to be involved in the ‘pilot course’ organised in Rome (July 2023). 

The agreement between the Province and the University of Trento regarding the management of the training and the related training programme was also approved.

In December 2024, the first edition was completed and 23 professionals were trained. The ASUIT manager for the AGENAS course was also trained.

The target for June 2025 (50 per cent of professionals trained) was achieved. 

The second intake began in May 2025 and concluded on 18 December 2025.

In total, 40 professionals from the provincial healthcare system were trained across the two cohorts, meeting the project’s target by the deadline of 30 June 2026.
