General information
The IMEAS project deals with the future energy system in the Alpine Space that will have to be increasingly efficient considering a scenario of progressive scarcity of public resources and climate change.
The complexity of the problem can only be solved through a multi-level and multi-actor approach involving public administrations, managing bodies, economic representatives, numerous stakeholders and citizens.
The planned activities are:
- Construction of a common framework on the energy challenges and needs of the Alpine Space for the drafting of an action plan
- Development of a stakeholder network model and a social-political model for low-carbon energy planning
- Development of tools and guidelines to support integrated and harmonised models
- Analysis of tools and guidelines, capacity building and joint actions for integrated roadmaps
The main results of the project, which will be integrated into the Eusalp Alpine Macroregion strategies, are: a white paper describing the stakeholders' network model, a web platform with tested tools and guidelines, a set of integrated roadmaps for the development of an energy sufficiency model for the regions participating in the project using low-carbon energies. Trentino will be one of the pilot areas for Italy to test the new methodologies for regional energy planning.
Goals
Improve capacity for planning/implementation of low-carbon energy policies.
Introduce a Stakeholder Network Model to support the development and implementation of integrated energy policies and Energy Roadmaps.
Organisation of multi-level governance of energy policy and planning instruments: vertical, horizontal (entities on the same level of governance) and transversal (different sectors: e.g. mobility, economic integration, environmental, etc.).
