The project explores and develops practices and tools to respond to emerging challenges in regional and national land use management and spatial planning.
It fosters mutual learning between partners in different European countries on soil-saving policies and promotes integrated spatial planning.
Through the exchange of good practices and theanalysis of effective action tools effective action tools for sustainable land use - such as competition management, the integration of integrated planning into spatial development plansand the exploitation of opportunities for multifunctional use - the project supports the improvement of local planning policies in the regions involved.
Goals
The project elaborates on the goal of 'no net land consumption by 2050', as set out in the Roadmap to a Resource Efficient Europe in the context of the European Union's 7th Environmental Action Programme (2014-2020), and confirmed in the recent Soil Strategy 2030 adopted by the European Commission.
