Data collection and analysis

The Regions and Autonomous Provinces are set to implement new healthcare data flows. Subsequently, the Ministry of Health will make a Software Development Toolkit available to facilitate the interconnection of healthcare facilities.

To enhance the technological infrastructure and tools for the collection, processing, analysing data and carrying out simulations tomonitor essential levels of care and plan healthcare services that are in line with needs, changes in the demographic structure of the population, trends and the epidemiological situation.

Target:6 new datastreams relating to rehabilitation care (SIAR), services provided by family planning clinics (SICOF), community hospitals (SIOC), primary care services (SIAP), the monitoring and management of staff in National Health Service organisations and bodies (SIPER), and healthcare construction (SIES)

The Autonomous Province of Trento, as the implementing body, relies onthe Trentino Integrated University Health Authority (Asuit) as its delegated implementing body.

The implementation of the PNRR in Trentino forms an integral part of the provincial policy framework for sustainable development, in line with the policies set out in the Provincial Economic and Financial Document and the relevant Update Note.

PNRR funding: €309,201.87 

The decrees of the Ministry of Health dated 7 August 2023 have been transposed, setting out:

• “Information system for monitoringrehabilitation care(SIAR)”;
• “Information system for monitoring services provided byfamily counselling centres(SICOF)”.

The Province has mandated Asuit to adopt, within the framework of the New National Health Information System (NSIS), the two relevant data flows, in accordance with ministerial provisions(Resolution No. 1766 of 29 September 2023). The first data were submitted by the deadline of 15 May 2024.

The decrees of the Ministry of Health dated 4 August 2025 have been transposed, setting out:

• “Information system for monitoring activities provided by community hospitals (SIOC)”;
• “Primary Care Information System (SIAP)”.

The Province mandated Asuit to adopt, within the framework of the New National Health Information System (NSIS), the two relevant data flows, in accordance with ministerial provisions (Resolution No. 1576 of 17 October 2025).

By decree of the Minister of Health dated 14 May 2026, resources were allocated for the infrastructural adjustments required for the adoption, by the Regions and Autonomous Provinces, of two new national data flows within the NSIS: the ‘Information System for the Monitoring and Management ofStaff in National Health Service Organisations and Bodies (SIPER)’ and the‘Healthcare Buildings Information System (SIES)’.
