Bus fleet renewal

This is an investment specifically dedicated to the dissemination of green local public transport that also includes a programme to renew the bus fleet towards low/zero emission solutions.
This measure is also intended to accelerate the provisions of the National Strategic Plan for Sustainable Mobility (PSNMS), which aims at a progressive renewal of buses. At a territorial level, these funds were granted to TrentinoTrasporti SPA, which called for the relevant tenders for the supply of

• 9 electric busesand their charging stations financed with funds allocated to the Province of Trento to cover the Trento-Lavis-Zambana section with a high-capacity, high-priority line with a reserved lane between the city centre and the northern suburbs. The service will increase from an hourly capacity of approximately 300 passengers per direction to a maximum of 800 passengers during peak hours depending on frequency. The aim is a reduction in carbon dioxide emissions estimated at 400 tonnes less per year and a positive energy balance with a primary energy reduction of approximately 13%.
• 7 electric buses and related recharging stations financed with funds allocated to the Municipality of Trento and related electrification of lines 7 and 11 in the provincial capital, with 'light' recharging infrastructures at the terminuses. The aim is a reduction in carbon dioxide emissions estimated at 600 tonnes per year and a reduction in primary energy.

Accelerate the implementation of the strategic plan for sustainable mobility with the progressive renewal of the local public transport fleet, the reduction of the average age of vehicles and the construction of dedicated charging infrastructures.

The Autonomous Province of Trento and the Municipality of Trento use Trentino Trasporti as a sub-implementing body.

The implementation of the NRP in Trentino fits coherently into the programme framework for sustainable provincial development, according to the policies identified in the provincial Economic and Financial Document and its Update Note.

The call for tenders for 9 electric buses has been published by Trentino Trasporti and envisages, through the supply of the new vehicles, the creation of a suburban line Trento - Lavis - Zambana.
On 11 July 2022, the Board of Directors of Trentino Trasporti ordered the provisional award of the contract for the supply of 9 electric buses and related charging infrastructure that will enter into service on the route between Trento, Lavis and Zambana to the grouping of Evobus Italia S.p.A. and Enelx Italia S.r.L.
The contract was signed in September 2022. In accordance with the contractual provisions, the 9 electric buses entered into service in June 2024.

The purchase of 7 electric buses is planned through the tender already published by Trentino Trasporti and aimed at the construction of the Trento-Lavis-Zambana suburban line.
The grouping of Evobus Italia S.p.A. and Enelx Italia S.r.L. won the tender.
The contract was signed on 22 November 2023. The first 2 vehicles will be delivered by December 2024, the remaining 5 will also be delivered, and the delivery of the charging infrastructure for the commissioning of the 7 buses is expected by the end of 2025.
