It was a simple gesture, but full of meaning: that greeting from afar from Pope Leo XIV was perhaps the most beautiful and profound acknowledgement for the operators of the Trentino Civil Defence, who have been busy in Rome over the past few days. It was an intense emotion, which ran through the eyes and hearts of those who, with a spirit of service, were involved in assisting the pilgrims who had come to the capital for the celebrations linked to the enthronement of the new Pontiff. The Trentino delegation - made up of 39 volunteers and led by the director of the Dams Office, Giuliano Rizzi - took part in the operations, alongside colleagues from all over Italy. Representatives of various operational structures were present: Nu.Vol.A., Red Cross, Voluntary Fire Brigade, Alpine Rescue and Speleological Rescue.
