Trentino is affected by humid and unstable air masses coming from the southwest, which in the coming hours will bring a marked worsening of weather conditions. In particular, between this evening and next night, widespread and at times persistent rainfall is expected, locally even in the form of intense thunderstorms. By tomorrow evening, an average of 40 to 80 millimetres of rain is expected, with peaks that could exceed 100 millimetres in some areas. Rainfall may reach hourly intensities of 30 to 40 millimetres or more. Thunderstorms will tend to move quickly towards the northeast, with the possibility of the formation of southwest-northeast oriented quasi-linear convective systems (QLCS). In addition to heavy rain, strong wind gusts, lightning and hail are possible. Saturday will still be unstable, especially in the morning and in the central hours, while a temporary improvement is expected on Sunday. This is announced by Meteotrentino. We remind you that until midnight tomorrow - Friday 29 August - the yellow alert for thunderstorms and heavy rainfall, issued by the Civil Protection, Forestry and Fauna Department, is active throughout the province. The water courses are constantly monitored by the competent services and, as a precautionary measure, the installation of nets to contain any material at the mouth of the Sarca river is planned.
