For the past few days, a new sound installation has been offering visitors to the Museo Retico - Centro per l'archeologia e la storia antica della Val di Non, in Sanzeno, one more reason to explore the world of the Reti, the pre-Roman population who inhabited the valley in the Iron Age.
The installation complements and completes the reconstruction on display in the museum of the karnyx, the ancient war horn, fragments of which were found in the village of Non. In addition to admiring this unique and extremely rare instrument, visitors can now hear its sound thanks to eight original audio tracks specially composed for karnyx. The tracks are taken from the CD 'The karnyx of Sanzeno. Il richiamo' produced by the 'F.A.Bonporti' Conservatory of Music in Trento and are performed by Maestro Ivano Ascari on the karnyx and students from the same conservatory. The installation further enhances this important testimony of the past, allowing visitors to enjoy a multisensory experience and connect with the suggestions of a lost and now rediscovered sound world. To listen to the sound of the karnyx, the Rhaetian Museum can be visited from Tuesday to Sunday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.
