350 vehicles including snowploughs and salt spreaders were deployed today to deal with the heavy snowfall that hit the Autonomous Province of Trento starting in the morning. The emergency was kept under control by the operations room, which from 12 noon - and active until midnight - monitored the evolving situation on the roads, motorways and railways that gravitated around the provincial territory. Connected by videoconference with the operations room, which was made up of the Fire Prevention, Road Management, Risk Prevention and CUE services and the Forestry Corps, today there were also the Forestry and Fauna Civil Protection Department, the Territory Transport Environment Energy Department, Terna, the A22 and the Volunteer Fire Brigade. The President of the Province, Maurizio Fugatti, was also connected by videoconference, to stay informed about the state of affairs.
Along the provincial and state roads, 10 garrisons were activated by the Local Police and Forestry Corps, who during the day checked that vehicles in transit were properly equipped, helping to avoid accidents and inconveniences to the road system.
Tomorrow morning it will be evaluated whether to anticipate the removal of the transit restrictions for heavy vehicles on the SS43 and SS47
An important piece of news concerns the cancellation, scheduled for tomorrow, of some trains in order to allow snow clearance on some railway switches on the Bolzano - Ala route. More precisely, the Trento-Bolzano 6.00 a.m., Bolzano-Rovereto 7.04 a.m., Rovereto-Trento 8.50 a.m., Bolzano-Ala 6.04 a.m. and Ala-Bolzano 7.37 a.m. trains.
