Found in a storage room of the medieval Pergine Castle after the acquisition of the asset by the CastelPergine Onlus Participation Foundation at the end of 2018, the altarpiece was restored by involving the community in fundraising. "The enhancement of this historical-artistic asset and the context that hosts it brings people closer to the castle. The building thus becomes, even more, a common good, capable of nourishing each citizen's need for beauty, which will trigger new historical and artistic research, so that knowledge of the cultural heritage inspires feelings of belonging and fosters inclusion and plurality. Moreover, this restoration also represents an extraordinary example of public-private synergy, a tangible sign of how culture can also be at the centre of our tourism strategy and can make us look to the future with confidence'. These were the words of Mirko Bisesti, Councillor for Education, University and Culture of the Autonomous Province of Trento, during the ceremony in the Throne Room of the Baronial Palace at Pergine Castle. Today's inauguration was made possible by the great effort of the people of Valsugana, demonstrating the importance of community volunteering.
