   Tommaso Marini's fencing between sensorism and authenticity

   In fencing, 80% of the work is done by the head. Concentration is key, but technology also helps.    States-General of football, there is a sector to save

   At the Teatro Sociale in Trento, on the third day of the Festival dello Sport, the leading exponents of the football movement at the Italian level tried to answer some of the most important questions that, in fact, lead to only one conclusion: football in our country is in crisis. To take stock of the situation, some numbers were illustrated, brought by the general manager of the Gazzetta dello Sport, Francesco Carione: Serie A is penultimate in total revenues (excluding capital gains), investments in youth sectors and owned stadiums. Not to mention the indebtedness of Italian football, added Turin and Rcs MediaGroup president Urbano Cairo, which is continuing to grow.

   Falcao and Zico, the Brazil of phenomena

   Today Brazilian stars choose other leagues, but in the 1980s, when Serie A was the tournament of champions (Maradona, Platini, Gullit, Van Basten) two of the brightest gems trod the fields of our peninsula.    Giovanni Soldini, 'We need to study the sea more'

   At the Sports Festival the meeting at MUSE with the great trans-ocean navigator, who spoke about the projects revolving around the Maserati trimaran, a latest-generation ocean-going vessel capable of flying over the water at over 40 knots. However, sporting challenges are not the only objective of Giovanni Soldini and his international team. The boat has been fitted with the Ocean Pack, an instrumentation capable of recording parameters such as salinity, temperature, quantity of CO2 and a series of other data useful for oceanographic research. Information that highlights the worrying condition of the oceans as a direct consequence of global warming, especially the levels of CO2 reached and in particular in the Mediterranean Sea.

   Bob Beamon, a leap into legend

   His is the longest-held record in the history of the Olympic Games, having stood for 54 years. The record is the one set in the long jump competition at the 1968 Mexico City Olympics by the American athlete Bob Beamon, the protagonist of this morning's meeting in Sala Depero, for the third day of the Sports Festival. A feat his, with an incredible leap of 8.90 metres, which has become legendary and which Beamon recounted to the Festival audience in all its exciting detail. At his side in the second part of the meeting was the Italian athlete, sprinter and long jumper, Andrew Howe, who holds the Italian long jump record, at 8.47, set in 2007 in Osaka.

   Zdenek Zeman, icon of a football that gave emotion

    Ruud Gullit and Arrigo Sacchi, that magical alchemy that made the Devil great

    Together they took AC Milan to the roof of the world, also winning two Champions Cups and two Intercontinental Cups. On the second evening of the Sports Festival, Dutch star Ruud Gullit and Arrigo Sacchi, the coach of that unique Milan team, met in Trento. Interviewing two symbols of that Milan team, which marked the history of football in the second half of the 1980s, and which had already become legends for the Rossoneri fans but also for fans of beautiful football, was Rosea journalist G.B.     Wielicki tells how Himalayan mountaineering has changed

    He was the fifth mountaineer in the world to complete the ascent of 14 'eight-thousanders' and the leading exponent of a generation of Polish mountaineers who in the 1980s were the first to tackle the giants of the planet in the winter season. And the first theatre of this challenge was Everest, climbed by Wielicki with Leszek Cichy on 17 February 1980. Then with Jerzy Kukuczka came Kangchenjunga in 1986 and Lhotse in December 1988, solo from Camp 3. As expedition leader, until 2018 he was no less, leading other generations of mountaineers up Broad Peak in winter in 2013 and attempting K2 in 2018. At the Trento Sports Festival, he went over some of these exploits with journalist Sandro Filippini: "We also wanted to write our names in the history of great mountaineering, but to do so we had to do something that had never been done before, and so we invented winter mountaineering in the Himalayas."
