Bisesti on school inclusion: "Trentino among the most virtuous territories in Italy for the right to education".

On the International Day of Disability, schools in Trentino are once again in favour of inclusion. Faced with the entirely negative reading that a local newspaper offers regarding the work of the provincial administration and the schools, while recognising that in terms of attention to disability there is always much to be done and improved, the provincial education councillor Mirko Bisesti intervenes on the erroneous reading given to the ISTAT Report on school inclusion, where the data on the low completion of the sample questionnaire sent directly to the schools was misinterpreted as a value of the quality of inclusion, just as the data on the presence of communication assistance and facilitation tools, for which the Autonomous Province of Trento, together with Lombardy, is among the most virtuous territories - and not the tail end of the Italian school system - was read in the opposite way.
"The Autonomous Province of Trento is historically in Italy one of the school administrations that has invested the most in inclusion and in the universal right to education: Councillor Bisesti is keen to point this out, in thanking all the staff who work in and with the school, for the benefit of students with disabilities and special educational needs, "starting from a law and a regulation that - the councillor recalls - came four years before the national guidelines and that recent legislative interventions and Invalsi data confirm once again that it is at the forefront of the commitment to high levels of equity and accessibility, even for those who start from disadvantaged situations. In fact, the Invalsi data from Trentino highlight a system with levels of excellence on equity, which cultivates the growth of competence levels of pupils who are disadvantaged, "so that the fight against implicit dispersion is the challenge to be won". "Those who attempt to engage in such analyses should be aware that it is a very delicate subject and that it is their duty to engage with those who, with professionalism and seriousness, deal with this on a daily basis," Bisesti adds.

Obstetrical ultrasound training course, Segnana's thanks to the operators

Today in Mattarello, at the Best Western Adige Hotel, a training day aimed at gynaecologists and obstetricians from Trentino Alto Adige, organised by SIEOG, the Italian Society of Obstetric and Gynaecological Ultrasound and Biophysical Methods, focused on the new guidelines drawn up in accordance with the directives of the Istituto Superiore di Sanità for obstetric ultrasound. The new guidelines have been included in the National Guideline System (SNLG) and feature some substantial changes from the previous ones, which date back to 2015.
Also opening the course to greet the participants was the provincial councillor for health, social policies, disability and family Stefania Segnana, who emphasised the importance of training 'I thank you for inviting me to this day, we believe that training is fundamental for professional growth and we support it, also as recognition of a pathway, which is why I am pleased to see so many of you here today. I would like to thank you for the commitment you put into your work on a daily basis, even thinking of the difficulties due to the hard times we have been through because of the pandemic. Thanks to you, the Trentino health service is achieving important results, and I believe that I can express my thanks on behalf of all the women of Trentino for the attention and professionalism that you reserve for your patients and that you demonstrate in particular towards the women victims of violence who resort to your care, as the recent course in Rovereto highlighted,' Segnana said.

Segnana in Lavis for the friendship match: 'Sport as a flywheel for inclusiveness'

An opportunity to spend a day in the name of sport and friendship, but also an initiative to bring young footballers closer to the world of disability and at the same time integrate disabled sportsmen and women into the football community: 'The friendship match' at the Lavis sports hall today saw, for the third edition of the event, two worlds meet and come together again, with joy and commitment, precisely on the international day dedicated to people with disabilities. This was also recalled by the provincial councillor for health, social policies, disability and family Stefania Segnana, who brought greetings to the participants. "A beautiful day of sport and friendship, in which the U.S. Lavis chicks and young people with disabilities challenged each other on International Disability Day, demonstrating how important it is to play, to be together, and also how sport can be a flywheel for inclusiveness," said Segnana.

International Day of Persons with Disabilities, Segnana: 'Essential to remember the commitment to real inclusion'

All over the world today we celebrate the international day dedicated to people with disabilities, to those who live daily with a physical, psychic or otherwise disabling limitation.
The aim of this anniversary is to raise awareness throughout the community of the problems and difficulties associated with disability, both on the part of those who experience it first-hand and those who have dedicated their lives to caring for and supporting the disabled.
"Days like today's are fundamental to remember the commitment we have towards people who live and fight every day to see equal rights recognised and opportunities for redemption from a destiny that for centuries has relegated them to the margins of society. Today I confirm the commitment of the provincial administration to guarantee real inclusion of persons with disabilities in the world of work, school, the third sector, and civil society in general. We are aware that the issue represents an important challenge, given the progressive ageing of the population and the consequent increase in the number of citizens who develop different forms of disability, but this must not divert our attention and commitment, including economic, towards this world," stated Provincial Councillor for Health, Social Policies, Disability and Family Stefania Segnana. The abolition of physical and cultural barriers is a fundamental step towards real inclusion and the creation of dedicated and structured paths for unlimited access to the possibilities offered in the territory by the public administration in cooperation with the local social welfare services.
"On the occasion of the Covid pandemic, we put in place a series of specific measures and targeted attention to people with disabilities, taking into account their greater exposure to the virus and their predisposition to develop a more serious pathology in the event of contagion, and this helped to relieve families and safeguard their health. In this regard, I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the health and social workers who continued to follow and help people with disabilities even during those dramatic months,' concluded Councillor Segnana.

Builders of Europe, the De Gasperi Award to Slovenian President Borut Pahor

'As a politician and statesman, President Pahor was able to interpret the Alpine and border area at its best. A thought and action that tenaciously contributed to making Europe more attentive and willing to face the epochal challenges we face together'. With these words, the President of the Autonomous Province of Trento, Maurizio Fugatti, presented the ninth Alcide De Gasperi International Prize - dedicated to the builders of Europe - to the President of the Republic of Slovenia, Borut Pahor. "I am convinced that sooner or later the time will come when our European countries will experience even closer cooperation, with the strengthening of our idea of Europe through a new Convention," said President Pahor during his speech in Depero Hall, in the presence of the institutional representatives of Trentino Autonomy and the State. "The aggression of the Russian Federation against sovereign Europe, I think and hope, will further accelerate these processes. Let us not forget that the European idea is first and foremost a peace project,' Pahor added.
