This was the comment made by the president of the region and the autonomous province of Trento, Maurizio Fugatti, after the favourable opinion of the Ministry of Transport gave the go-ahead to 7.5 billion euro for Project Financing.
"This is very positive news, for which we have been working for a long time," says the President of the Province of Bolzano, Arno Kompatscher, commenting on this important step towards the awarding of the contract by the Italian government: "Instead of just collecting tolls, we can now turn the Brenner line into a green corridor. Many years of negotiations have led to an important result. 7.5 billion euro of investment will be used 'to push forward a comprehensive transport concept with digitisation and a shift to rail', says the president of the Autonomous Province of Bolzano.
