In order to clarify what has been reported in today's press, APPA confirms that, based on the results of the soil characterisation surveys performed to date in the Trento Nord SIN areas, there is no evidence of a possible migration of organic lead from the former Sloi area to the former Carbochimica area, by the water table.
This does not exclude that, in general, the area below the railway may have been affected in the past by accidental or induced contamination events, of which there is no evidence at present. Therefore, in view of the substantial appropriations for further investigations, APPA considers it advisable that investigations should also be carried out below the railway line in order to verify the existence or otherwise of possible contamination of these soils and to arrive at a definitive certainty of the state of the sites.
