The Trentino Civil Defence is still in full activity in Emilia Romagna. In Lugo di Romagna, the work is concentrating on the underground car park of a shopping centre, of about 8000 square metres, invaded by water that has reached a height of about 3 metres. Since this morning, thanks to the water pumps, the water is subsiding. As soon as conditions allow, the underground car park will be inspected. Activities, this is the forecast, will continue throughout the day and also tomorrow. The personnel at work are working with three water pumps capable of sucking up 25 cubic metres of water per minute. Seven people from the Risk Prevention Service and the Single Emergency Centre are on site. In addition, two teams of volunteer firefighters, for a total of 13 people, are at work in the area to drain private homes and underground garages with other water pumps. In Lugo, a pedestrian subway to the railway line was also cleared this morning. Within the municipal territory, in the locality of Cà di Lugo, the municipality has provided a social structure where the Nu.Vol.A., 11 people of the Primiero Group, prepare meals for the teams working in the area.
Work is also going on in Cesena, here too to free the basement garage of a large shopping centre from water with water pumps. The intervention began yesterday and will continue today. The fire brigade also inspected the underground car park to check the cars present. But today's activity will also focus on emptying a 1600-metre-long tunnel of the "Secante" ring road in Cesena, which is about 80 centimetres in height occupied by water. The intervention is considered important because it is a priority road link. Yesterday, work was carried out at the Cesena Police Academy.
Also in Forlì today, work continues to free basements from water.
The intervention, this is the request, will move with high capacity water pumps also to Alfonsine where an inspection is in progress.
