   Beyond economics, the Festival hosts a debate on transcendence, between science and faith

   What is meant by 'transcendent'? Is it something necessarily linked to faith? The answer, negative, is entrusted to the debate between philosopher Massimo Donà, mathematician Piergiorgio Odifreddi and Father Enzo Fortunato. "Transcendence is not outside of materiality, it is going beyond," says Odifreddi. "I therefore mean, for the individual, going beyond what one is, with projects and changes, but for the community, for what is so widely represented here at the Trento Festival of Economics, going beyond a vision linked to the economy, to Eurocentrism, to production at all costs, trying to look at the world from the outside, from afar.

   More money and more support to developing countries for climate transition

   Italy's role in an industrial policy capable of responding to global challenges

Taking the United States as an example, which has implemented a number of strategic state measures to encourage the return of production and investment, thus responding to the systemic Chinese challenge, Europe and Italy should also have 'a significant, clear and assertive industrial policy', capable of responding to the challenges of China and embarking on a common path parallel to and not in opposition to the USA. "I will speak about this next Thursday in Washington," Urso announced from the stage of the Trento Festival of Economics.

   Economist Zamagni: 'Inequalities are worse than poverty'

   For the Trento Festival of Economics in Palazzo Geremia, a multi-voice meeting on the relationship between profit and non-profit civil economy (based among other things on the principles of reciprocity and fraternity) and social sustainability. Economist Stefano Zamagni outlined an overview. "Today inequalities are worse than poverty," he said, "because they create destabilisation of both the economic and political order. They are, consequently, a factor of strong social unease'. Zamagni went on to argue that 'the state-market economic model can no longer function. Instead, it is necessary to replace it with the State-market-community triad inspired by the principle of circular subsidiarity'. On environmental degradation, he said: "We have destroyed the environment because there has been confusion between growth and development".
